Bonnie’s classes are an expression of meditation in motion; she emphasizes the importance of breath awareness, good alignment, calming the monkey mind and having fun. When teaching, Bonnie draws upon her years of training and personal practice to focus on how yoga cultivates self-awareness to enhance overall physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
She described her style of teaching as a hatha flow and likes to incorporate meditative, soothing music to enhance her students’ experience
Bonnie has been teaching yoga since 2008, when she received her 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification. Bonnie went on to earn her 500-hour RYT in 2013.
What is your favorite form of mind body movement or lesson you teach, and why?
My favorite go-to yoga pose is handstand. For 12 years, I was a competitive gymnast and I still find this pose can ground and calm me. As a teacher, one of my favorite things to do in class is empower each student’s journey towards personal growth and well-being.
What is your favorite song or type of music you listen to when teaching?
Anything that involves calming, healing sounds.
What inspires you?
People who give selflessly, are passionate and have overcome life’s challenges with strength, dignity and a positive attitude.
I am also inspired by nature, especially water.
What is a quote or mantra that you live by?

What is your haven?
My haven exists in those moments when I am surrounded by family and close friends and when I can take a moment to reflect on the miracle of life.
INTERMEDIATE. A fast paced style synchronizing the breath with each movement. Creative sequencing and fluid movement increases agility, mobility and mind/body awareness. Build upon Yoga Basics fundamentals and explore deeper versions of the poses.
