Krysta was looking for a new exercise regimen and decided to try Pilates. Fast forward nine years and what started as an interest quickly grew into a passion. Krysta tries to instill that passion in others and enjoys the accessibility that Pilates offers to clients at all levels of fitness. Krysta’s certifications include Peak Pilates certification for Level 1 and Mat.
When not in the studio practicing or teaching, Krysta adores spending time outdoors with her family, especially on her parents’ Christmas tree farm in the Deep Creek Lake area. Krysta and her family live in Howard County.
What is your favorite form of mind body movement or lesson you teach, and why?
I love to teach the Pull Up on the chair. I considered this move my nemesis when first attempted, but when I finally executed it successfully, I felt such achievement and engagement in my deepest core. When my students find success with that move and have the same jubilation, it is very rewarding as an instructor.
What is your favorite song or type of music you listen to when teaching?
I only play music during Pilates if my students are in agreement with having music in the background; some students find the music distracts them from creating the mind body connection, while others really enjoy the setting it can provide.
One of my favorite songs to play would be “Lebanese Blonde” by Thievery Corporation.
What inspires you?
I find inspiration every day, whether it’s from my family, something I read, hear or observe. I try to stay receptive enough to accept inspiration from my daily experiences.

Lying on the grass with my family beneath a sky full of stars at my parents’ Christmas tree farm.
Flow and Restore Yoga
ALL LEVELS. A vinyasa flow invigorates, followed by restorative yoga, which holds poses for longer periods of time with the support of props to relax the body, mind and spirit.
