Olga holds an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) 500-hour certificate and has 35 years of yoga teaching experience.
After discovering yoga in her native Czechoslovakia, she augmented her studies with courses at The Sivananda International Yoga Institute in Vienna, Austria, from 1983 to 1989. Her deep respect and love for Iyengar yoga is clearly evident in her teaching approach. She also specializes in yoga for health and healing, and working with clients who struggle with anxiety and depression. Olga is certified as LifeForce Yoga® Practitioner Level 1 at LifeForce Yoga Healing Institute.
Olga’s classes focus on posture and movement, highlighting proper alignment techniques and breathing. Her teaching emphasizes empowerment and joy, which is imbued with a sense of creativity, freedom, humor and fun. She is deeply committed to yoga, and her love of the practice is evident in the sense of humor and fun she brings to her classes.
What is your favorite form of mind body movement or lesson you teach, and why?
I love to teach flow, but my most favorite is alignment-based yoga. I also love to teach yoga as a tool to help someone come to realize life is worth living and that they can find their own personal meaning and purpose; if I do that, I feel that my mission as a yoga teacher has been accomplished.
What is your favorite song or type of music you listen to when teaching?
I love to use the Zen Garden station on Pandora — it is my absolute favorite. It is inspiring, peaceful and bubbling with a positive energy.
What inspires you?
Nature, particularly the sunrise. And my two boys.
