About Regina Little

For more than 15 years, Regina (Gina) Little, a NYC native, has lived in Howard County and been a CA fitness instructor. Over the years, she has been fortunate to teach at all of the CA clubs as well as Haven, and has taught a variety of group fitness classes and formats. Her love of fitness and movement began early on with jazz and modern dance classes, repertory work with Alvin Ailey, and high school/college cheerleading. As an adult, she migrated to focus personally and then as an instructor on “fun” and “effective” dance fitness, plus endurance training.

Gina is AFAA Certified as a group fitness instructor and is certified to teach Bender Barre, Zumba, LaBlast, Cize, Mad Dog/Schwinn Spinning/Indoor Cycling, Aqua-Fit, Aqua Barre, and Hydro-Cycle. She has a B.S. in Biology & Nutrition, a Master’s in Public Health, a Masters in Social work, and is passionate about helping members lead happy and healthy lifestyles. Her motto is to motivate others to feel confident in achieving their fitness goals and be ‘fun, fit and fab’.

What class/classes do you teach at Haven?

Aqua Spin.

What do you love about teaching Aqua Spin?

I love that with aqua spin, members receive an excellent cardio and conditioning workout to motivating music, plus it’s easy on the joints and can be adapted to suit all fitness needs and levels.

What is your favorite song or type of music you listen to when teaching?

I have a very eclectic taste in music, including Pop, Dance, R&B, Jazz and Broadway oldies (Disco and Motown) and fresh new music. All have something to offer. The key for me is music with a great beat and rhythm that complements the movement coupled with an uplifting message!

What inspires you?

I am inspired by so many of our members who have faced and overcome personal obstacles, including health-related illnesses and disabilities, and yet are positive, motivated and appreciative of my time and instruction. I don’t think members realize that I get more out of teaching them than they get from me as an instructor. At the very least, it’s mutually beneficial!

What is your haven?

My family, including my two daughters and my mini-LabraDoodle, Zoe.
